Human resources management workshop organized by profil² and Barthauer

What are my strengths and weaknesses? What determines how I communicate and act?

The team at profil² Personalmanagement GmbH explored these questions in depth in a workshop with nine employees/managers from Barthauer.

The personality test based on the DISG model served as the basis for the Barthauer team’s goal of using the insights gained to derive measures for communication within the team and to get to know and better understand the needs of their colleagues.

The participants first took a DISG personality test, which is based on self-assessment. The results were then presented to them by the profil² team during an evaluation meeting, where they were analyzed and discussed. This provided valuable insights into their own communication and individual behavior.

Lisa-Marie Anders, profil²: “An important aspect when evaluating the personality test based on the DISG model is that the results do not allow for quantifiable comparisons. This means that they are value-free and individual, so there is no right or wrong. The test provides a basis for better understanding one’s own behavior and working on it in the long term.”

In the subsequent workshop, the teams first developed basic communication models, such as “I” messages, the four sides of a message, and the wheel of awareness. Participants were then asked to create a profile based on their personal characteristics and to introduce themselves to the other team members using their newly acquired and/or differently structured insights.

Barthauer participant Nina Macke sums it up as follows: “The personality analysis workshop was very insightful. I was already aware of some aspects of my personality, while others were new to me. We were able to draw some very useful conclusions for the team and our communication with each other and develop measures based on these, because we all got to know each other better and now understand even better why someone acts in a certain way or differently in a particular situation. Many thanks to the profil² team!”

The profil² team also offers executives, and new team leaders in particular, support in the form of individual coaching sessions. Please contact us if you are interested!

Brief explanation: DISG model

According to the DISG model, there are four behavioral styles in humans: dominant, initiative, steady, and conscientious. The personality test based on this model reveals the test subject’s most predominant behavioral style.
