VWI Braunschweig visits the i-unit group

VWI

The i-unit group was delighted to welcome the Braunschweig chapter of the Association of German Industrial Engineers (VDWI e.V.) on Thursday, December 14, for a half-day case study event at its Steintorwall offices. The event was organized and hosted by re-unit GmbH, a sister company of the i-unit group.

The twelve participants were tasked with developing fundamental approaches to restructuring a fictional mechanical engineering company, with the goal of significantly improving its financial performance. As input, they were provided with simulated financial data and notes on business development, market environment, and operational areas. Their assignment was to present a convincing program of measures to the company’s board (roles played by re-unit employees) and demonstrate how a return to profitability could be achieved. This was also to be reflected in a rough profit and loss plan for the coming years.

Divided into three working groups, the VWI members tackled the challenge with great enthusiasm and visible enjoyment. Despite the limited time available, they were able to present impressive and goal-oriented solutions.

Following the group presentations and detailed feedback from the “board,” the re-unit consultants shared methodological strategies and tips for problem-solving and teamwork.

The evening then transitioned into its social part: over freshly grilled food with plenty of sides and cold drinks, participants and re-unit consultants exchanged ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.

Feedback from all participants was consistently positive. We thank everyone for this great event and look forward to continuing the positive collaboration with VWI Braunschweig in the future.
