With the acquisition of Askozia, the German provider of the Asterisk-based IP telephone system AskoziaPBX, UC specialist 3CX is continuing its global expansion course. The acquisition of this established company gives the buyer access to extensive expertise, innovative Linux-based technology, and an additional customer base of more than 10,000 predominantly medium-sized enterprises.
Founded in 2013 as a spin-off of Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences, Askozia has in recent years developed into an established company with impressive competencies in the field of VoIP technology development. To further strengthen its position in the German market, 3CX is taking over not only Askozia’s employees but also its innovative technology, which will be integrated into 3CX’s own products in the future. In addition, by taking over the location in Hanover, 3CX gains the opportunity to strategically position itself in the home of CeBIT.
i-capital acted as M&A advisor on the seller’s side for the transaction (lead: Torben Seikowsky, Christian Stahl). Legally, Askozia was advised by the law firm Göhmann Rechtsanwälte Notare.
Nick Galea, CEO of 3CX:
“The acquisition of Askozia marks another milestone for 3CX Germany. Askozia has a skilled team of experts and impressive Linux technology. By integrating this into our product, we expect rapid growth within the German market.”
Sebastian Kaiser, CEO of Askozia:
“With 3CX, we have found the ideal partner to build on our previous success and to be part of the expansion of a market leader known as a pioneer in the development of software-based communication technologies. We are excited to become part of this innovative company and to help shape the future of VoIP telephony in the German market.”
